Atlas Physiotherapist helps England beat Germany

29 March 2003

England 5 Germany 2 is not a score that you hear often. But that was the score at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London last weekend. Atlas physiotherapy's Specialist Manipulative physiotherapist Mr Robert Bailey helped the England Amateur Boxing Association beat Germany. “The night was very high profile with all of the national press in attendance.” He said. The night started well with the first two bouts going to England. Our middleweights had a very difficult time of it with the greater hand speed of the Germans proving too quick for our boxers. However, the night was topped by the English heavy weight beating the German captain in the last bout. England’s Frankie Donovan managed to take the award for “Boxer of the night.”

Mr Bailey said “it’s always a challenge working with elite athletes and there is no other way to view these boxers. The team has had a great run up to the competition, training at Peterlee. They all looked very sharp and thankfully I managed to ensure they were all injury free.” (photo) Mr Bailey is now looking forward to this years competitions.

He is due to go to Poland, Ireland and Italy amongst others with the England team. “ The boxers are a great group of lads to work with. But after being away and the pressure of the tournaments it’s always great to get back to the practice in Penrith.” Said Mr Bailey.
